What stage are you in? How will you use this stage?

Cherish The Moment

Read my book, rub my back; Mommy, listen to my prayer.
Let me sit in your lap. Daddy, fly me through the air.
Throw a ball, make a snack; Can we go to the park?
Tuck me in, hold me close; I'm afraid of the dark.

Sing a song, play a game; Swing me high in the air.
Ride a bike, fly a kite; How I love the times we share.
Hold my hand, hug my neck; Daddy bounce me on your knee.
Come and sit by my bed; Mommy rock me to sleep.

Cherish the moment; soon you'll be apart.
Cling to the memory; Clasp it to your heart.
Soon comes the day when you'll have no child to hold,
So cherish, cherish the moment.

Think ahead to a time When your little ones are grown;
Hold them tight, don't lose sight Of the blessings you have known.
Think ahead to a time When your little boy's a man
And you'd give anything Just to hold him again.

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Phil 4:11-13

Dear something I have noticed, and many others also seem to have noticed, is that little girls can’t wait to grow up. They dream of the days that they will be a Mommy, a wife, a home keeper. The time goes by, now they are a single young adult…longing so much for the chance to become a wife, and have children. Then they become a wife….yay! They are so happy…but then it becomes a time of longing for children. Then they have children. They love it, for a small amount of time, and then they can’t wait for the children to grow up. Once their children have grown up, they begin to long for the time when they were that little girl, or their chance to be a single, young person, or a young wife, or they wish their children were young again.  I wonder, what would happen if we decided to cherish each stage of our life.

Paul said, “I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” I realize he was talking about no matter what amount of food, clothing, and so on, that he had…I think we can include our age, marital status, and every other area in our life. There is a point where it is good to have the desire for the next stage in our life, but not so strongly that we lose out on the stage we are in.

Are you a child? Enjoy your childhood. Use it for the Lord. People will listen to children, who will not listen to adults. Pass out tracts, pray for people, memorize Bible verses, strive now, while you are young, to give your life to the Lord.

Are you a single young adult? Right now you can give more to the Lord than you ever will be able to again your life. You can put much more time into witnessing, and soul winning, than you will be able to later. Give your all to Him, and He will repay.

Are you a wife? Serve that husband, and make him the best man he can be. That is the job of the wife, a helpmeet. Equip him; with your love and prayers, to do whatever it is that God so chooses for him.

Are you a Mom? Train those children up for the Lord. Pray for them daily, and bathe them in God’s love, and in the Word. You may feel like the work you are putting into it is not worth it…but it is. I was a child once, and had a Mom…I know.J The children must grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Notice, the father gets credit if the child is raised for the Lord, but the mother gets blamed if the child is raised wrong. This happens over and over again in Proverbs, and in many other places in the Bible. But it is so important that those children be raised right. We are in a world that is wicked beyond imagination. In this day and age, a child who is living right, is so unusual, that the world doesn’t know how to handle it. What use to be the norm, is now odd. We should strive for it to become norm again.

Are you past any of those stages? We who are around you need your encouragement. Often we can learn so much from those who will invest in our lives, that have been through our stage of life before. All of us can invest in the lives of those younger than us, but even more so an older, wiser, woman, can really impact our lives.

The job of every Christian is to serve others. We are all in different stages, but we are all just as important, and just as needed. Cherish the moment you are in, in your life, and keep serving the Lord no matter where you are.

On a side note, I know I said that the other one would be my last newsletter....no one has offered to take it up, so what I will do is, if I have time, keep writing newsletters. I still long to write, and want to. If I can, I will send one. I have no clue how often they will be, but eventually, one may come.
