Come unto me all ye that labour, In this uneasy world, many are searching for rest.  Where do we find the rest we need? The Bible is the answer to all of life’s questions, so let’s look there.   Mt. 11:28-29  “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”   Jer. 6:16 “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”   Ps. 37:7 “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. “   All we have to do is turn to the Lord, and walk in His ways. He wants to provide us with that rest.  His Spirit will comfort us, and He will help us to rest in Him.   Ps. 16:9 “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.”   We have the hope that when He comes again to receive us unto Himself, all our labours and toils will cease. We have the hope that our Salvation is sure. We have the hope that He is coming for us. This isn’t a hope that, “Oh, I hope it will happen.” This is an assurance because we know we are saved, and we know He is coming for us.   So, what keeps us from the rest?   Ps. 38:3 “There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. “   Ps. 132:14 “This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.”   The verse before this is talking about Zion, where God dwelled at the time. It was His house.  Now God’s house is the Church. Although He does dwell in each of us individually, when we say we are going to God’s house, we are talking about going to Church. When we are in Church, we are with His people, and should be learning His word. This will help us to get the rest that we need.   Ps 37:4-5 “Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”   This rest comes from trusting the Lord. Really, nothing that happens to us is a surprise to Him. He is in control of everything, and we can trust Him.   Pr 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

II Sam 22:3 “The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.”   II Sam 22:31 “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.”   Ps 2:12 “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”   Ps 4:5 “Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.”   Ps 5:11 “But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.”   Ps. 9:10 “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.”   Ps 18:2 “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”   Ps 18:30 “As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.”   Ps 34:22 “The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.”   Ps 36:7 “How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.”   Ps 37:3 “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”   Ps 56:3-4 “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”   Ps  5:11 “In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.”   Ps 62:8 “Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.”   Ps 64:10 “The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.”   Ps 91:1-6 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.  Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.”   Ps 118:8 “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”   Ps 125:1 “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.”   Pr 29:25 “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”   Pr. 30:5 “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”   Is 12:2 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.”   Is 26:3-5 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.”
Sometimes trusting Him, and resting in Him does not seem easy, but He will help us to do so. All we have to do is ask Him to. He wants us to rest in Him, and He wants us to trust Him. It makes  a big difference in our lives when we do rest in Him.   Always Enough Mark Rogers Copyright 1996 Mark Rogers Ministries, All Rights Reserved – used by permittion   Looking back and thinking I can see where God has led The mountain tops of vict’ry, the tears that have been shed And even though I’ve failed Him in so many different ways It seems I almost hear the voice of Jesus gently say   Chorus 1 “I’m always enough, I’m all you will ever need When your finally tired of walking on your own Just reach out your hands, I’ve promised to meet your every need Let go of your pride, I’m still by your side, and I’m always enough”   Sometimes we think we’re all alone and no one understands The hidden hurts and failures the broken dreams and plans We do our best to hide the pain and face it on our own Forgetting that those burdens are not ours to bear alone
Chorus 2 He’s always enough, He’s all you will ever need When your finally tired of walking on your own Just reach out your hands He’s promised to meet your every need Let go of your pride, He’s still by your side, and He’s always enough   Prayer requests: Our President

Really, nothing that happens to us is a surprise to Him. He is in control of everything, and we can trust Him." I needed that tonight. I've heard twice tonight already (on Shine -NZ Christian TV) that we do not to fear the future as God is already there. What a thought! He knows the future but more than that He's there now
