As we approach February, we approach Valentines Day, a day many think about love, and about "Forever". Have you ever thought about the things that God says last  forever? Let's look at those things today.
1. Our Lord.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Psalm 72:17
His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
Psalm 135:13
Thy name, O LORD, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.

I am so thankful that Jesus Christ is forever. If Jesus ever changed, what would that do to my Salvation? I am so thankful that He whom promised that He would not lose us, does not change, and will not lose those that are His own. He also is continuously willing to save those who trust Him. He is never going to die again. He is forever our God, our Guide, our Avenger, our Shield, our Protector. Jesus Christ is forever, amen?

2. His glory.
Romans 9:5
Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
Gal 1:4-5 “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
Philippians 4:20
Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Whether we remember to give glory to God, or not, He will get what is rightfully His. He knows just how to get the glory He deserves, too. It is best if we chose to give it to Him.

3. His Kingdom
Exodus 15:18
The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.
Psalm 10:16
The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
Psalm 29:10
The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.
Luke 1:33
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Revelation 4:9
And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

As long as Christ is King, His will must be accomplished. Right now, Christ is King in Heaven, soon He will be King on earth, as well. I look forward to the day He reigns here on earth, but I cherish the thought that, as Kiing right now, His will still is accomplished.

4. His Priesthood
Psalm 110:4
The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

As a Priest, our Lord is able to forgive our sin. He shed the perfect blood to atone for our sin once and for all. Because of this, He has a continual Priesthood in which He allows us to have fellowship with the Father, if we confess our sin.

5. His Counsel
Psalm 33:11
The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

His counsel guides us as to what He wants us to do. We have a more sure word of prophecy, because we do not have to wonder if the man we ask counsel from is truly getting it from God. We can go right to God and ask for His will, in His time, He will reveal it to us.

6. His Praise
Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

What an honour, and a privilege, it is to be able to praise the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. We are able to show forth His praises, in a world that is dark, and needs Him.

7. Our inheritance
Psalm 37:18
The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be forever.
We don't ever have to worry about missing out on Heaven, because His promice of our inheritance is that it is forever.

8. His Truth
Psalm 117:1-2
O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

 Psalm 119:89
For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
Isaiah 40:8
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever.
1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 1:25
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Psalm 119:152
Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.

9. His Mercy
1 Chronicles 16:34
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Ezra 3:11
And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

Aren't you thankful for His mercy? No matter what we have done in our lives,, God will let us come back to Him, if we repent, and His mercy keeps us from facing the full judgment we deserve. We will never face Hell. We may face earthly punishment, but we will not face the full judment we deserve. We also will lose rewards in Heaven, but how wonderful God's mercy is.

10. Punishment for the wicked
1 Chronicles 28:9
And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
Revelation 14:11
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

When we realize that the eternal destiny of many around us is Hell, and that it really does last forever, that should make us long to reach those around us. I read recently where someone tried to say that Hell does not last forever, because how could God do such a thing? His judgements are just. They are pure. They are right. They are true. If a man rejects Him, what more can He do for that man?  Hell is as much eternal as Heaven is.

11. His fear
Psalm 19:9
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

The fear of the Lord goes beyond just a reverance. There has to be a literal fear. Not that if you disobey God, He will strike you wtih lightning, but that you will not have His favor on you. The fear of the Lord brings you to the point where you serve Him with a willing heart. It goes beyond the punishment, to the point of the heart. A child first learns a fear of their parents, for what the punishment will be, and all though that is a good fear, it is not enough. There must be a fear to the point where the child respects the parents, and longs to please them. There must be a fear of the dissapointment they will bring to their parents. The hardest thing for a child to know, is that their parents are disapointed in them. This fear causes obedience, and that is what we need in our lives.

12. His judments.
Psalm 119:160
Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

No matter what the judgment is, it is something that is eternal. When He judges us, and He sees His Son, and says to enter in to Glory, it is eternal.

13. His Preservation
Psalm 12:7
Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 John 2:17
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

What a blessing to know that I am safe forever in His grip. He knows exactly what He is doing with me, and He is preserving me for what His use is for me.

14. His Strength
Isaiah 26:4
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

His strength is what keeps us going, and it will NEVER fail us. The strength He provides is amazing

15. His intercession
Hebrews 7:25

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

16. Our reign
Revelation 22:5
And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Just as Jesus is ruling and reigning forever right now, we will be ruling and reigning with Him some day. What an amazing thought.

As we have looked at these 16 things that last forever, may it challenge us to live for Him more and more each day.
